Muntada' "Slogans"

Muntada' "Slogans", originally uploaded by The MediaMentor.

Slogans
Muntadas
1987, 8:35 min, color, sound

Slogans is a visual deconstruction of advertising slogans, a literal and metaphorical illustration of the disintegration and loss of meaning of information in the contemporary "media landscape." Appropriating text from a series of familiar print advertisements — "Choose Your Weapon," "Play to Win," "Talk is Cheap" — Muntadas enlarges, digitizes and overlays words until they devolve into abstract mosaics. Accompanied by a banal muzak soundtrack, this display of text as image demonstrates advertising's insidious transformation of language into empty signifiers.

Digital Photography Tools from The Light's Right - Photoshop Actions

Digital Photography Tools from The Light's Right

TLR B&W Conversion i
s a Photoshop action set for making high contrast, Ansel Adam's like B&W images from a color image. It automates the tasks for converting to B&W.
http://www.thelightsright.com/TLRBWConversion

TLR Clarity Enhancement builds on the ideas of Michael Reichmann, Thomas Knoll, and Mac Holberts of Nash Editions. It provides an effect similar to the Clarity slider in Adobe Lightroom and Adobe Camera RAW. Hence the name, TLR Clarity Enhancement.
This is a form of creative sharpening that provides a general contrast boost in the middle tones. The result is more "pop" and "snap" for your photos. It's great for reducing the effects of haze.
http://www.thelightsright.com/TLRClarityEnhancement

TLR Color Enhance
This is a creative color enhancement action set from The Light's Right Studio: a Photoshop action set that make it easy to creative enhancements to the colors in your image. The effects in TLR Color Enhance use Layer Sets to keep your layers organized.

TLR Image Resizer
The TLR Image Resizer is an action set for adjusting the size of your digital images. The action set is based on a technique known to advanced Photoshop users. If you increase the size of an image in small increments, the artifacts are reduced, making it possible, in many cases, to enlarge digital images to poster size and still have a sharp image.

TLR Sharpening Toolkit
This is the original sharpening action set from The Light's Right Studio: a Photoshop action set that make it easy to obtain professional sharpening of your digital images. TLR Sharpening Toolkit is a Photoshop CS action set for sharpening RGB, CMYK, L*a*b, and monochrome images.

Therapy Dog Program

Kathy Beaupre and Rillie

The Therapy Dog Program is run by St. John Ambulance in Yellowknife. Any dog of sound temperament can become a Therapy Dog, regardless of size or breed, once they pass the St. John Therapy Dog test. All volunteers must be able to make the commitment of time to visit on a regular basis. They must also be willing to participate in a screening process, which includes a police records check.
