Sur la route de Fort Simpson

simpson

(question seulement pertinente pour les amis tenois).

Hi George - referring to our facebook site, it would be great if you kept
your negative comments to yourself. We're not in the business of stealing
photos from people - we run a photo contest because our readers enjoy it,

Not entirely sure what your beef with Up Here Magazine is but you come off
as petty and immature when you write this kind of stuff. And this isn't the
first time we've had to remove your commentary either. Thanks,

Call for Submissions / Grand River Film Festival (GRFF) / Short Film Competition

Call for Submissions / Grand River Film Festival (GRFF) / Short Film Competition - Deadline Extension / Kitchener, ON / Deadline Date:  Friday, July 30, 2010 by 4:00 PM

KITCHENER, ON - Hoping to submit a short film but running out of time? The Grand River Film Festival is pleased to announce the submission deadline for the BMO SHORT Shorts competition for 2010 has been extended until Friday, July 30th at 4pm.  The extension is thanks to recent funding support from the Waterloo Region Arts Fund. The BMO SHORT Shorts competition is a part of the Grand River Film Festival (GRFF) taking place October 21-24, 2010.

As a part of GRFF, the shorts competition is open to any resident of Ontario and is a way to showcase Canadian cinematic creativity. In its fourth year, the BMO SHORT Shorts competition continues to be a signature event within GRFF and attracted over 40 submissions in 2009. Over the past four years, GRFF has steadily gained recognition as a cultural accomplishment for the Region. Last year, Japanese director Yojiro Takita of Departures - Academy-Award winning film in 2009 - visited GRFF and participated in a number of festival events.

GRFF encourages anyone interested in film, filmmaking or direction - novice or expert - to submit their short film to this year's BMO SHORT Shorts competition. Whether this film is the first or fifteenth production, each short film is a celebration of what this competition was meant to inspire - passionate 'cinemaniacs' creating and sharing their projects with other moviegoers. A GRFF panel will select a total of nine finalists - six from the open category and three from the 18 and under category.

Winners are announced at BMO's SHORT Shorts Chairman's Gala in September.

For more information about GRFF or submitting a film for the BMO SHORT Shorts competition visit www.GRFF.ca .

Just released plug-in metadata panel for use in Adobe Bridge (CS3 or higher)

IPTC-PLUS Toolkit released by IPTC & PLUS

The International Press Telecommunications Council (IPTC) and the Picture Licensing Univeral System (PLUS) have jointly developed a plug-in metadata panel for use in Adobe Bridge (CS3 or higher) which allow users to read/write the full set of fields included in the IPTC Core, IPTC Extension and the PLUS metadata schemas.

The release of this free IPTC-PLUS Toolkit means that anyone with compatible versions of Adobe Bridge will now have the means to easily embed the full set of IPTC fields as well PLUS metadata to digital images. Power users will love the fact that with this IPTC-PLUS Metadata panel you can now export out a full set of metadata fields into a Tab Separated Value (TSV) plain text file. In addition, you can modify that data and then import the resulting information through the same Metadata panel so that it is embedded directly into the file.

Also included in the download are comprehensive user guidelines, mapping charts and example images. The user guidelines define each of the fields available in the Adobe CS5 File Info dialogue, as well as those in the IPTC-PLUS Metadata Panels (IPTC Core, IPTC Extension and PLUS Schemas are covered). The field mapping charts will help those that are used to working with other image metadata tools, and the provided images are preloaded with embedded photo metatadata so you can test if the value of a field is shown in the expected field in the user interface.

Read more and download the IPTC-PLUS Toolkit from

World's first reverse image search engine "TinEye."

Idée develops advanced image recognition and visual search software. Idée created the world's first reverse image search engine TinEye.

TinEye

TinEye is a reverse image search engine. You can submit an image to TinEye to find out where it came from, how it is being used, if modified versions of the image exist, or to find higher resolution versions.

TinEye is the first image search engine on the web to use image identification technology rather than keywords, metadata or watermarks. It is free to use for non-commercial searching.

TinEye regularly crawls the web for new images, and we also accept contributions of complete online image collections. To date, TinEye has indexed 1,572,822,693 images from the web to help you find what you're looking for. For more information, please see our FAQ, and for some real TinEye search examples, check out our Cool Searches page.
