...from the wild rose of Alberta... encased in a covering of snow down from the skies and frost from the Slave River.
To call your attention to interesting photography related on the web... and to show off some of my photographic work... is there another reason for a blog?

Fall foliage in Fort Smith..
There's not much red in the foliage up here in the South Slave region of the Northwet Territories... that's because there are no maple trees.. but the aspens give great golden colours..
The hydro powerlines in this image carry electricity from the Thelon Dam to us in Fort Smith and Hay River... giving us the least expensive electricity in the NWT.
This shot was taken on Route # 5 south of Fort Smith in Alberta between us and Fort Chip... looking North..

First frosty fog of '04
The Slave River's big... so when the air temp goes below freezing.. but the ice has yet to set in the river... there are some days when clouds of fog roll off the water onto the trees in the surounding countryside.... this was one of those days...

Flutterby
This was an amazing shoot. This canadian Tiger Swallowtail actually stayed in position for about 20 mins.. I was able to get about two feet away... as close as I needed to get to get all the shots I wanted...
